Overview
🏀Full Assignment Description: This assignment is about learning the correct fundamentals of basketball shooting form by carefully studying proper technique and practicing the movement slowly and correctly before shooting on a basket. First, watch the “Shooting Technique” tutorial video located at: Fairfield Basketball Shooting Tutorial The video is approximately 5 minutes long. While watching, pay very close attention to the details of proper shooting form including balance, feet positioning, hand placement, elbow direction, follow-through, and shooting rhythm. The goal is not simply to watch the video, but to carefully study the mechanics of a fundamentally correct basketball shot. After watching the video, spend at least 5 minutes practicing the shooting motion without using a basketball hoop. During this practice time, move very slowly through each part of the shooting motion one step at a time. Focus on building correct habits and body control. Players should pause and mentally check themselves throughout the movement to make sure each part of the form is correct before continuing to the next step. After the 5 minutes of practice, submit a short video in the homework submission field demonstrating your shooting form. In the video, you must first loudly state your name, school, and grade. Then explain that you practiced the shooting technique fundamentals and are about to demonstrate the correct form slowly and carefully. Next, demonstrate several slow-motion basketball shots while carefully checking each part of your form during the movement. Your demonstration should clearly show proper stance, balance, hand placement, elbow alignment, release, and follow-through. The movements should be done unbelievably slowly so you can focus on perfect mechanics and self-correction throughout the shot. The goal of this assignment is not speed or making baskets. The goal is learning how to build a fundamentally sound shooting motion that can be repeated correctly over time. Most videos should take approximately 30 to 60 seconds to complete.
